Barcelona, Spain
We cannot wait to welcome you all to to one of our favorite places in the world and where our relationship began. Here is a helpful guide on places to eat, drink, and see while you are visiting!
things to do in barcelona
-
Parc Guell
A park originally designed by Antoni Gaudi to be a utopian community overlooking the city. Also recommend buying tickets in advance.
-
Passeig de Gracia
The Barcelona equivalent of New York’s Fifth Avenue with lots of high-end shops and some of the most beautiful architecture in the city. Stop at one of our favorite spots, El Nacional, for a drink or snack!
-
The Beach at Barceloneta
Fun fact: most of the beach in Barcelona was man-made for the 1992 Olympics! One of our favorite places to hang out and play volleyball with friends.
-
Walk through El Born and the Gothic Quarter
The oldest portions of the city with small, winding roads and lots of shops and restaurants. The best place in the city to get lost! Check out Els Quatre Gats, a small restaurant and coffee shop that Picasso frequented.
-
Visit the Picasso Museum
Our favorite museum in Barcelona! Located in El Born. There’s a great small restaurant/bar nearby called Bar del Pla.
-
Arc de Triumf/Parc de la Ciutadella
This is a beautiful park with an incredible fountain (part of which was designed by Gaudi).
This is right next to our Welcome Drinks venue!
-
Eat pinchos on Carrer de Blai
Pinchos are small snacks, typically pieces of bread topped with cheese, meats, seafood, or vegetables. This street has lots of small restaurants and bars; we recommend going down the street and getting a few pinchos at each place!
-
Visit Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya
This is the Museum of Catalan Art located in the Palau Nacional de Montjuic, one of the most beautiful old buildings in Barcelona. Located in Plaza Espanya overlooking the “Magic Fountain” that has a light show every night.
-
Visit La Boqueria Market
An enormous open market with many different food stalls, located along Las Ramblas. Best to go earlier in the day since it gets very crowded.
-
Explore the Festa de Gracia
Steph’s favorite festival of the year in Barcelona happens to be during wedding week! The residents of Gracia (one of Barcelona’s neighborhoods) spend all year making decorations for their streets which go on display for 1 week. Also lots of live music and parties in the streets!
-
Tour La Sagrada Familia
(MUST DO!) Gaudi’s masterpiece that has been under continual construction since 1883! Buy tickets ahead of time!
